We Go Beyond Code Requirements

Being knowledgeable in the roofing industry means we also keep up with the latest code requirements. For instance, in 2009 there was an ordinance requiring all homes to have 24 inches of an ice and water shield past a heated wall. Mutual Roofing will typically go 2 or 3 feet beyond the minimum requirement. We also add it over the garage (even though it’s not a heated wall) for more protection.

The code requirement for nailing shingles is 4 per shingle, however, we choose to use 6 nails. The additional nails help protect against the high winds we experience in the Midwest and secure your manufacturer’s warranty.

We Get Insurance Claims

It’s very important to pick a roofing contractor that is knowledgeable in supplementing insurance claims. For instance, we will always replace damaged components and bring your home up to code. Sometimes your insurance carrier doesn’t approve these things and then we have to eat the cost. However, we will never surprise you with payments that weren’t previously discussed.
