What Does a Roofer Do? (Learn About the Roles Within Mutual Roofing)
What Does a Roofer Do?
We’re currently doing a series where we’re profiling different people within Mutual Roofing. Though not everyone is a roofer, we are integral to the company in each of the jobs we fulfill. To understand better about what you’re getting with Mutual Roofing, we wanted to take you through some jobs roles in the company.
Project Managers
The project managers on our team are usually the first person you meet at your home. These are the guys that will climb on your roof, inspect your surrounding property, document any damage, and meet insurance adjusters on-site. Our project managers are knowledgeable about storm damage, roofing parts, the insurance process, and more. Once the damage has been identified (or not), the project managers can generally give you a quote for any roof replacements or repairs.
As your roofer, we will never push a new roof or try to sell you anything you don’t need. We always work with your best in mind.
Supplementing
For insurance claims, we have a dedicated team member that works directly with your insurance company to supplement claims. Nick, our director of operations, is highly knowledgeable about the insurance claims process and knows his way through different insurance policies. He’s able to communicate efficiently with insurance companies to get your claim approved so we can began to work on your roof.
It’s highly important to work with a roofer that understand supplements.
Scheduling
Once everything is approved, we can start to coordinate your roofing repair or installation. We use a software called EagleView to get the exact dimensions of your roof and order the right amount of products. Then we work on the logistics with our roofing crew to schedule a date that works with your schedule and ours. Lastly, we will always call the night before to confirm starting the next morning.
It’s important to use a roofer that can coordinate all the moving parts to minimize the disruption to your life.
Installation
What many people don’t realize is there installation usually can take a few days (unless its a really small roof). It’s a major construction project, and as such, there are several important things you need to know before we get started. Additionally, there might be more damage to account for including siding, windows, and gutters. These things take time and all repairs don’t always line up simultaneously. Our Director of Quality Assurance will stop by your home throughout this period to monitor progress.
We encourage homeowners to allot time for repairs and any potential weather delays.
Post Installation
A thorough cleanup around your home always comes after we finish an installation. We pick up all trash and relocate things back to their original spots. This includes two rounds of magnet rolling your yard for any nails and picking up remaining supplies. Lastly, we will do one more inspection of your completed roof for quality assurance.
Any remaining payments are due during this period and our financial controller. All warranties also began at this period including our 3 year craftsmanship warranty and any manufacturer’s warranties.
Summary
While our roles are very different, we all serve together to make your roofing experience seamless and efficient. Our distinct roles within Mutual Roofing help each other perform better. The end result? A roofer that knows the ins and out of the industry to better serve you.
