Meet Mutual Roofing: Nick Woodard
Meet Mutual Roofing
Over the next several weeks we will be doing a series profiling the different team members at Mutual Roofing. You’ll get to know us a little bit better and see us as so much more than roofing contractors.
Nick Woodard:
What is your role?
Managing Partner
What do you do at Mutual Roofing?
I have my hand in a lot of stuff. I primarily work with insurance companies to supplement claims and help homeowners through the insurance process. I work to make sure the claim is “closed out” by getting them all the documents and get the funds released. It’s important that we do this part well and ethically.
Aside from that, I do inspections, order materials, and schedule roofing jobs. I’m able to jump in wherever we need help when our busy season hits.
How did you get involved with Mutual Roofing?
I left Union Pacific on July 2016 as a Senior Corporate Auditor to come join Mutual Roofing. Paul (my cousin) saw a big void in the company and needed to bring on someone who could be a jack-of-all-trades. I was reluctant to work with a family member, but ultimately we put things in placed to minimize the effects of that.
I always saw myself at some point being my own boss or working in an environment where I could thrive entrepreneurially. Mutual Roofing has been that place and it’s hard to imagine working at any other roofing company.
What’s your favorite thing about your job?
I like serving people and working at Mutual Roofing let’s me fulfill this. I’m able to work with homeowners and help problem solve and come up with solutions. At the end of the day, it’s extremely rewarding to help meet peoples’ needs through the roofing industry.
Tell us about your family:
I’ve been married to my wife for 7 years and we have 4 kids- ages 6, 4, 2, and 4 months. I grew up in Kansas City and she grew up in Denver and we met during college. We moved to the Omaha area in 2012 and have loved living here ever since.
What is your favorite food?
Chipotle. I could eat it multiple times a week and be perfectly content with myself. And steak, a really good steak with salad and a baked potato.
What is your favorite Movie or TV Show?
My favorite movie is (the old) Point Break with Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze.
What is your favorite place that you’ve been to and why?
The low country. I’ve been going there since I was a little kid and it’s filled with fond memories. It’s the perfect place to roll the windows down and smell the salt water.
What’s something about Mutual Roofing that most people don’t know?
We really strive not to cut corners. Of course every roofing company in Omaha works for profit, however, we feel that it’s important to never cut corners.
