Which Omaha Roofers Should You Use?
As with any industry, being an insider gives you a distinct advantage. There are Omaha roofers that you should definitely use and some that you should definitely avoid.
While we would never bash other Omaha roofing contractors, we want to help homeowners in their search. We want you to know what to look for and tell-tale signs of a good roofer.
Here are ways to tell which Omaha Roofers you should use:
1. Check Their Website
It’s easy (and free) to set up social media pages which is why so many questionable roofers that have popped up recently. Many reputable roofers in Omaha take the time and investment to create a website to establish legitimacy. Additionally, you take the time to explore and learn about the company. Read any bios to know exactly who to expect at your home. Again, shady roofers put vague information on their company page and don’t even let you know the name of the people operating the business. These are some clear red flags, so keep on searching.
2. Check Their Google Listing
The goal in checking with Google is two-fold. First, you want to verify their legitimacy and locality. Good Omaha roofers will claim their business and hopefully have reviews to speak to their service. These two factors will be a mark of their legitimacy. Secondly, you want to check that they have a physical office (and not only a PO box) to prove they’re a local company. We’ve written at length at why it’s so important to work with a local roofer- but in short, to ensure accountability and any warranty work thereafter.
3. Solicit Other Opinions
Let’s assume that some Omaha roofers are trying to cheat the system and have found ways to manipulate the first two methods above. You can’t go wrong if you start to solicit opinions on social media. So if you’ve narrowed down your search, it can’t hurt to ask for the opinion of others. In fact, we’ve seen several posts on NextDoor which have said “Has anyone ever worked with ______?” So even if you get feedback to NOT use this roofer, the neighbors on the app will often have other great Omaha roofers to recommend.
Summary
As a homeowner and roofing consumer, your best interest is what we always have in mind. While we know we’re a reputable company, there are several other Omaha roofers that we believe also do great work. Our hope is that whoever you end up with that it’s one of the “good guys”.
