The Best Roofing Stories We Have Heard
Being in the roofing industry isn’t the craziest profession in the world. Our products don’t evolve like technology and people only seek us when they have a need.
There are times, however, that roofing stories emerge that even catch our attention. Some are funny, some are heartwarming, some are ironic, and some are truly unbelievable.
Here is a compilation of some of the best roofing stories we have heard:
Georgia Roofer Offers to Pay Off School Balances
A roofer realized that many families and kids were unable to pay off school lunch balances and he knew he could do something about it. That’s when Todd Price of Perimeter Roofing stepped up to help.
Price and his crew have paid off lunch balances for several elementary schools around the area.
Way to do good!
Roof Collapses at Roofing Company
Last December, the roof of a roofing company collapse under the weight of all the snow. The owner was inside and unfortunately sustained no injuries. Sometimes you take care of other peoples’ roofs that you forgot about your own.
The irony!
Parrot Uses Explicit Language at Rescue Firefighter
A parrot that had been stuck on a rooftop in London finally received a rescue crew after 3 days. They suspected the bird was injured which is why it hadn’t come down.
Though the firefighter came bearing gifts to help coax the bird down, all she could say back was “F*%& Off”.
After several verbal rants with her rescuer, the bird eventually flew to another roof and then back to its owner.
Lesson: Parrots are like children and repeat everything they hear.
Roofer Fined for Having Trash in Work Van
You know how there are stories about crazy laws. This may be one of them. A roofing contractor was pulled over for routine spot checks in London earlier this year.
The council worker (which we assume is a position between civilian and law enforcement) spotted a plastic bag full of trash- namely water bottles and chip bags. Apparently, you need a “waste carrier’s license” to carry any sort of trash in a vehicle. This roofer, as you can imagine, didn’t have the license.
Consequently, he was given a fine of 300 pounds which he has attempted to repeal (and has no intentions of paying).
Sometimes common sense isn’t so common.
