3. Monarch Prime & Bar

Monarch is a swanky restaurant located on the bottom floor of Hotel Deco. They have an upscale menu with seasonal items and thoughtfully created flavor combinations. Yelp reviews comment on how unique and innovative the dishes and will stretch your culinary palette.

4. Mahogany Prime

Category: Classic

Mahogany Prime is known for their high-end and high-grade cuts of steak. Many reviewers noted how servers come around with flashlights to inspect the doneness of your steak to your preference. The sides were also notable. Instead of being inventive of new, unheard of dishes, they simply create all the familiar favorites using the most exceptional ingredients. Familiar, but better.

5. Fleming’s Steakhouse

Fleming’s a place where you can go to enjoy upscale versions of your favorite with the opportunity to venture outside your norm. Many of the reviewers on Yelp noted the consistently good food and extra accommodating wait staff. It’s also a place you can dress up or down a bit and still fit right in.

6. 801 Chophouse

801 Chophouse prides itself in being a comfortable, yet upscale New York steakhouse. It’s located on the bottom floor of the Paxton hotel in the Old Market downtown. They offer a vast selection of wines and other adult beverages plus a upgraded version of all the sides you already know and love.

7. Stirnella

Category: Breakthrough

Stirnella says it best on their own website, but they use local ingredients for globally inspired dishes. It’s a place that you wouldn’t think certain ingredients would work well together, but somehow they do, and masterfully so. Reviewers mentioned the food is consistently good and the atmosphere is inviting.

It’s hard to argue that after 150 reviews, the “average” ranking for Au Courant is 5 stars. (Even the reviews on Google confirm this ranking). Au Courant offers European-inspired dishes with local ingredients and unintimidating prices. Personable, quaint, and delicious are some of the words used to describe Dolce. Their slogan is “make every night a date night” and while not exactly “cheap”, they are more affordable than many fine dining options on this list. The focus is on a small, perfected menu over many mediocre options. The cuisine features many Americana classics with culinary twists.
